SOUTH CAROLINA (WTOC) — Rep. Nancy Mace is the unofficial winner of the Republican nomination race for Congressional District 1. His opponent, Katie Arrington, conceded after the release of preliminary results.
With Mace winning the majority of votes and advancing to November, she will face Democratic side winner Annie Andrews.
Mace said it was a late night waiting for the results, but certainly a good night which she capped off with a victory cake for breakfast this morning.
“It was great last night and now we have to unify the Republican Party and I want to thank my opponent for being in the arena, for leading a really… worked very hard on his campaign and now we all have to come together to win in November. We win in November and we will have a Republican majority.
“We want to continue the work we started. So far I have passed 16 bills out of committee in my first 16 months in office, I have passed four bills on the floor of the house and in fact, the last bill that I adopted out of committee was completely unanimous.
She says until November and if re-elected, her priorities will be to balance the budget and tighten immigration.
