Ballots for the coordinated November 2 election will be mailed to voters in El Paso and Teller counties starting Friday, election officials said this week.
About 450,000 ballots are ready for distribution to active registered voters in El Paso County on Friday, Clerk and Recorder Chuck Broerman said. Teller County officials will be sending out about 19,600 ballots to voters next week, Deputy Chief Clerk Stephanie Kees said.
The office of the clerk and secretary must receive the ballots no later than 7 p.m. on polling day, November 2. Stamped ballots received after the deadline will not be counted. Election officials recommend that voters return their completed ballots by mail no later than October 25.
October 25 is also the last day residents can register to vote or update their voter record online at GoVoteColorado.gov and receive a ballot in the mail. After that, those who have not received a ballot, need a replacement ballot, wish to register to vote, or wish to return their ballot in person can visit an election service and polling center. vote in their county until November 2.
Broerman told El Paso County commissioners this week that he expects a turnout of between 34% and 38% in this election, similar to the 2015, 2017 and 2019 elections. is ready to receive the ballots of 45% – or about 225,000 – of voters, he said.
In Teller County, three 24-hour secure drop boxes will open from October 18 to November 2. at the Teller County Courthouse, 1010 W. Bennett Ave., Cripple Creek; and the Divide Marketplace / Venture Foods, 11115 US 24, Divide.
Voters in Teller County can vote in person beginning October 25 at the Woodland Park Library, 218 E. Midland Ave. Hours of operation are Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from October 25 to November 1. open on October 30 from 8 a.m. to noon and will close on October 31. On November 2, it will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters in El Paso County can drop their ballots in any of 38 secure drop-off boxes around the clock across the county starting Friday and until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
The El Paso County Clerk’s Office and Voting Center at Citizens Service Center, 1675 W. Garden of the Gods Road in Colorado Springs, will open Monday.
Five additional locations will open on October 25 in Colorado Springs: at the University of Colorado at Kettle Creek Room No. 108, 4785 Clyde Way in Colorado Springs; Centennial Hall, 200 S. Cascade Avenue; the location of the Southeast Clerk’s Office, 5650 Industrial Place; the location of the Clerk’s office at Fort Carson, 6351 Wetzel Ave., Building 1525 (use door 1); and the North Branch of the Clerk, 8830 N. Union Blvd.
On November 1 and 2, five more polling stations and polling centers open: at the Fountain Library, 230 S. Main St., Fountain; Pikes Peak Community College, Centennial Campus, 5675 S. Academy Blvd., Colorado Springs; PPCC’s Rampart Range Campus, 2070 InterQuest Parkway, Colorado Springs; Monument Town Hall, 645 Beacon Lite Road, Monument; and the West Metropolitan District Woodmen Hills Community Center, 11720 Woodmen Hills Drive, Falcon.

Voters are expected to receive their ballots by Oct. 18, Kees said.
Broerman also said voters can opt for a statewide ballot tracking service known as BallotTrax, which notifies voters by email or text that their ballots have been received and recorded. To register, visit colorado.ballottrax.net/voter.
El Paso County is also reaching out to voters whose signatures cannot be verified, either because they did not sign their voting envelopes or because the signature is not legible, Broerman said. Voters can remedy signature discrepancies by paper, email or online, he said.
